Narrated Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (ra): "I asked the Messenger of Allah (saw) to teach me an invocation so that I may invoke Allah with it in my prayer. He (saw) told me to read [doa as indicated on the left] [Bukhari]Allahumma innee zhalamtu nafsi zhulman katheera
Wala yaghfiruz zunooba illa anta faghfirlee
Maghfiratam min ‘indika war hamni innaka
Antal Ghafooror Raheem
Translation:
Oh Allah! Indeed I have wronged myself greatly
And no one forgives sins except you, so forgive me
From your forgiveness and have mercy on me, indeed You
And only You are al-Ghafoor (the One who covers up sins in vast quantities), Ar-Raheem (the One who shows mercy in vast quantities)
