The Flame Within Us

At times our own light goes out
and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think, with deep gratitude,
of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Don't Let Me Go

I can see your shadow laying in the moonlight
I can feel your heartbeat playing on my right side
Every night I long for this, making up what I miss
I can hear you breathing letting out a sad sigh...

This Kind Of Certainty Comes But Once In A Lifetime

And she heard his voice coming back down the highway: «In a universe of ambiguity, this kind of certainty comes only once, and never again, no matter how many lifetimes you live

Robert Kincaid: When I think of why I make pictures, the reason that I can come up with just seems that I've been making my way here. It seems right now that all I've ever done in my life is making my way here to you.

Robert Kincaid: I don't want to need you, 'cause I can't have you.

Francesca: But love won't obey our expectations. Its mystery is pure and absolute. What Robert and I had, could not continue if we were together. What Richard and I shared would vanish if we were apart. But how I wanted to share this. How would our lives have changed if I had? Could anyone else have seen the beauty of it?

And My Only Talent Was Not To Close My Eyes

In 1956, at the height of her career, Marilyn Monroe went to England to make a film with Sir Laurence Olivier. While there she met a young man named Colin Clark, who wrote a diary about the making of the film. This is their true story.

Sir Laurence Olivier: [reciting while images of Marilyn plays on screen] You do look, my son, in a moved sort, as if you were dismayed. Be cheerful, sir. Our revels now are ended. We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.

Marilyn Monroe: Don't forget me.
Colin Clark: As if I could.

Colin Clark: Here's what I remember most: her embrace. Her belief in me. And the joy she gave. That was her gift. When I think of her now, I think of that time when a dream came true. And my only talent was not to close my eyes.

To Look Life In The Face

"A woman's whole life in a single day. Just one day.
And in that day, her whole life"
... Mrs Dalloway, Virginia Woolf

"Dearest,

I feel certain I am going mad again. I feel we can't go through another of those terrible times. And I shan't recover this time. I begin to hear voices, and I can't concentrate. So I am doing what seems the best thing to do.

You have given me the greatest possible happiness. You have been in every way all that anyone could be.  I know that I am spoiling your life, that without me you could work. And you will, I know.

You see I can't even write this properly. I can't read. What I want to say is that I owe all the happiness of my life to you. You have been entirely patient with me and incredibly good. Everything has gone from me but the certainty of your goodness. I can't go on spoiling your life any longer.

I don't think two people could have been happier than we have been.

Virginia."

"Dear Leonard,

To look life in the face, always,
To look life in the face
And to know it for what it is.

At last to know it,
To love it for what it is, and then
To put it away.

Leonard,
Always the years between us,
Always the years.
Always the love.
Always the hours."

A Reason, A Season, Or A Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Live Your Dream, Wear Your Passion

This is your LIFE. Do what you love and do it often.
If you don't like something, change it.
If you don't like your job, quit.
If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV.
If you're looking for the love of your life, stop.
They will be waiting for you
when you START DOING THE THINGS YOU LOVE.
Stop over analyzing. LIFE IS SIMPLE.
All emotions are beautiful.
When you eat, appreciate every last bite.
Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people:
We are united in our differences.
Ask the next person you see what their passion is,
And share your inspiring dream with them.
TRAVEL OFTEN; getting lost will help you find yourself.
Some opportunities only come once, seize them.
Life is about the people you meet,
And the things you create with them.
So go out and create something.
LIFE IS SHORT.
LIVE YOUR DREAM,
AND WEAR YOU PASSION.
