To Master Oneself

i am no lion
to overpower my enemies
winning over myself
if i can
is enough

though i'm of lowly earth
since i nourish a seed
named love
i'll grow lilies of the field

when i'm pitch-black
lamenting separation
i know for sure
i will break through
spreading light on the dark night

i am on fire inside
but look grim outside
since i want to rise
like smoke through my cell

i am a child whose teacher is love.
surely my master won't let me grow
to be a fool

saedah,

Never, ever forget that Islam is sent to give hope to humanity.

It was never to dampen our spirit towards our journey "home" - only wayward man does that.

So bask in the glory of what The Almighty has showered us of His Mercy. Never allow any man/woman, and sometimes ourselves, get in the way of that.

"Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful"... az-Zumar 39:53

Take care and enjoy your journey to Jordan :)

Remember... HOPE!

Salam Ustaz,

Thanks for being there on Sunday. It was an honour for me to have your presence.

Hope I will learn and appreciate more and more about Islam from now on.

Have you actually finished your entries as I see you have spent almost your afternoon on very scholar and highly intellectual matters... :) or there are more in the coming and making... ;-)
